Es ist Big Band Jazz auf höchstem Niveau vom Arrangement-Papst Bob Brookmeyer, der von Kennern der Szene in einem Atemzug mit Gil Evans, Duke Ellington, etc. genannt wird.
Erhältlich ist die CD bei http://www.artistshare.com ab dem 30. September.
Zu hören sind Standards, die Bob Brookmeyer neu arrangiert hat. Wobei arrangiert zu kurz greift. Er hat um die bekannten Melodien neue Stücke herum geschrieben, trifft es vielleicht eher.
Die Aufnahme hat eine große Natürlichkeit und Dynamik.
